Glory Circle
The Glory Circle - a poem by Marilyn A Wilson
Inhale the power of the feminine
Absorb her glory and might
Honor her story and royal presence
As you stand tall in her midst tonight.
As her energy pours from your fingertips
And you breathe her spirit light
Feel her in your fullness
Burning brightly in the night!
Throw your head back and gaze in her honor
See the whirling faces of all the women before
Their hair is sparse, straight, or curly
And their bodies are full, thin, or curvy galore
Dotting the whirling shape forming
As decorations on a holiday tree
They all connect in a glory circle
Of those, before you and me.
Around, under, above, and beyond
We are supported as we stand
Together, joined, and united
Holding hearts and holding hands.
I stand at the bottom, dizzy as I gaze
At the radiating energy all around me in a blaze.
The ancestors are watching and calling to me
To follow the path of the feminine ways.
They chant together in a harmony of song,
“You are the woman you have been waiting for – all along.”
‘Our wisdom is your wisdom
Our gentleness, your way
Our experiences, your experience
And, in love, for you, we appear today.”
Inhale our energy and hold precious our gift
Of girl-hearts, mother-love, and as sisters who forgive.
Know always that we feel you, we see you, and we hear
Your enchanting melody drawing others very near.
You are strong and you are mighty
A warrior of women, with little rest
You are a symbol of what is real and now
And today, you are at your best.
One day you will join the glory circle
Where our minds and spirits are one
When our voices sing out powerfully
Leading others in their woman song.
As for now, you may be still a while,
Stand grounded, sturdy, and tall
Exhale into your radiance
And praise power to us all!
